Soundproofing Bedroom Ceiling – Brighton

Project Overview

Our client in Brighton was struggling with both airborne and impact noise coming from the kitchen above — including footsteps, conversations, and the sound of drawers and utensils. With limited ceiling height to work with, we installed a high-performance LB3 Ceiling System paired with SP15 Soundboard to deliver exceptional acoustic insulation without compromising headroom.

Our Solution

We implemented the LB3 Genie Clip ceiling system, incorporating 100mm Rockwool acoustic insulation, furring channels, resilient bars, SP15 soundboard, AC95 acoustic sealant, and a 12.5mm sound plasterboard finish. This layered design effectively isolates vibration, absorbs airborne noise, and minimises structural sound transfer. Total space loss = 3cm

Result

The client was extremely pleased with the outcome, reporting a dramatic reduction in both impact and airborne noise. The installation maintained the aesthetic of the room while delivering measurable soundproofing improvements.
