This ceiling solution works well where Impact is of great importance and you can afford to lose the ceiling height (Dependant on room length)

A new ceiling frame is fitted below the offending ceiling, breaking direct contact with the ceiling above.
100mm acoustic mineral wool is friction fitted into the new frame work, Resilient bars get attached to the new frame, 19mm SoundPlank or 15mm SBx boards are attached to the resilient bars and a final layer of 12.5mm Soundshield gets fitted with all joins on the first layer and perimeter of final layer sealed with acoustic mastic.

Further products like Tecsound and Green Glue can be added to increase performance.

Excellent for Impact and Airborne Noise.

    GenieClip® RST

Probably the most popular choice due to space lost, installation time and performance against Impact and Airborne noise, the Genie Clip attaches to the existing joists and outperforms the resilient bar by 6db due to a much higher level of resilience.

Genie Clips and furring channels will be attached to existing joists on the ceiling, 50mm acoustic mineral wool added and two layers of 12.5mm Soundshield plasterboard attached.

This system can be further improved by adding Tecsound, Green Glue or replacing one layer of Soundshield plasterboard with a layer of 15mm SBx boards.

    GenieClip® LB3

Where ceiling height loss is an issue we recommend using the LB3 Genie Clip system.

LB3 has an impressive result against both Impact and Airborne however we would need to remove the existing plasterboard on the ceiling in order to install the system.
The LB3 fixing is installed on the side of the existing joists, new boards are then attached to the furring channel, breaking contact with the joists.

This system consists of 100mm acoustic mineral wool, LB3 Genie Clips, furring channels and two layers of 12.5mm Soundshield plasterboard with all joins on the first layer and perimeter on the final layer sealed with acoustic mastic.
This system can be upgraded with Tecsound, Green Glue or SBx Boards.
