Underfloor Soundproofing – South London

Our client in South London was dealing with severe airborne noise from the neighbour below, particularly conversations and even snoring coming through into her main bedroom. She wanted an effective soundproofing solution that wouldn’t reduce floor height or disrupt the appearance of her home.

We installed a complete Underfloor Batten System designed to block airborne noise through the floor structure. The existing floorboards were carefully lifted to expose the joists, and we fitted 100mm Rockwool acoustic insulation between them. We then installed battens with SP15 Soundboard, sealed all joints with AC95 acoustic sealant, and finished with a Tecsound 50 membrane for added mass and vibration control.
The original floorboards and carpets were reinstalled seamlessly, leaving no visible signs of work — just a significant reduction in unwanted noise.

The client was thrilled with the outcome, noting a dramatic reduction in airborne noise and a much quieter, more comfortable bedroom. The installation was completed efficiently with no loss of floor space.
